Friends of Manito Mother’s Day Plant Sale

Friends of Manito plant sale, coleus
Who else loves African violets like I do?!

It is so delightful to hear that another plant sale is on the calendar. This one will be put on by the awesome Friends of Manito as a way to celebrate both our love of gardening and Mother’s Day.

This fun event will feature houseplants, cacti, succulents, mixed planters and yard art for your outdoor spaces. Hours of the sale are from 12 noon to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 6th; and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 7th and 8th. It will be held in the Manito meeting room, just east of Manito Park’s Gaiser Conservatory (near 2020 S. Tekoa).

To keep everyone safely distanced, they request that you reserve a shopping appointment by going to this link.

But there’s even more good news: Members of The Friends of Manito will receive 10% off every purchase at this sale (as well as a 15% discount at Northwest Seed and Pet, a 10% discount at Wittkopf Landscape supplies, and a 10% discount at Ben and Jerry’s Spokane). Membership costs $25 and lasts all through 2021. You can purchase a membership here.

Here are some additional details about the sale from the Friends of Manito:

“This sale will give you a chance to browse a beautiful and varied selection of houseplants, cacti, succulents, mixed planters, and more in an environment that is COVID-conscious. Our knowledgeable volunteers will be happy to share with you their wealth of gardening and plant experience to help you select the perfect gift for your mother (or yourself – who can resist a new houseplant?).

“Some of the plants that we will have for sale are: African violets, Croton, Lemon Cypress, Cyperus papyrus, coleus, geraniums, several types of begonias, piggyback plant, several varieties of Tradescantia and Plectranthus, Streptocarpus, Sansevieria, jade, mixed cactus and succulent gardens, spider plants, orchids, philodendron, hanging baskets, peace lily and Clivia. Honestly, there are too many amazing plants to list in this email – You’ll just have to stop by and see for yourself!”
