Video: Fall Cleanup Postponed!

It’s time for my next video but it didn’t end up going the way I had planned! I had intended to talk about and demonstrate fall cleanup tasks. Apparently, Mother Nature had other plans.

Bill and I were down in California for a weeklong family visit. The weather was lovely there for the most part. However, when I checked on Spokane’s weather forecast, it was a different story: a big temperature drop, two snowstorms and a powerful windstorm.

We came home to a few inches of snow on the ground and a fair amount of damage to trees and our roses. Fortunately, everything is fixable when spring gets here but it was discouraging. So in today’s video, you’ll see what took place in our absence and hear about my plans. I also show you how our winter garden is coming along in the hoop house.

One of the biggest issues we’re dealing with is the fact that the leaves haven’t dropped off of the trees and shrubs. This means the snow will land on the leaves, making branches heavier and more likely to break. Not a good thing at all.

I do hope Mother Nature is being kinder to you and that your fall cleanup is going according to plan!
