Video: June 2026 Vegetable Garden Tour
I am so excited about this week’s video! Why’s that? Well, I do a virtual vegetable garden tour each month of the growing season. And this is the first one for 2026.
In it, I take you through our garden, bed by bed, so you can see how everything is growing so far. And even more importantly, I share various tips for growing a wide variety of crops. I’ve been doing these vegetable garden tours for quite a few years now. My goal is to help you be successful. And this applies whether you’re brand new to growing your own food or a seasoned veteran.
Bill and I get so much joy growing veggies. While the eating aspect of gardening is the end goal, it’s so much fun to watch how everything grows. We even enjoy watching the various insects (good or “bad”) and critters we encounter. Well, OK, maybe not so much the critters but then, that depends on what they are!
As I mention in the video, we have a lot of California quail in our garden. Boy, do they love munching on little seedlings as well as other plants. But they’re gorgeous birds and right now, we’re enjoying watching the antics of their adorable chicks.
Here are the types of crops you’ll be seeing and learning about:
- Beans, pole
- Beets
- Broccoli
- Carrots
- Container veggies
- Cucumbers
- Garlic
- Kale
- Leeks
- Lettuce
- Parsnips
- Onions, leeks and shallots
- Peas
- Peppers
- Potatoes
- Pumpkins
- Swiss chard
- Tomatoes
- Winter squash
- Zucchini
I’ll also give an update on the crops growing in my GreenStalk vertical planters. And I discuss how helpful agricultural insect netting is.
Whew! That was a lot of information but the first vegetable garden tour of the season tends to be pretty packed. So let’s get right to the video:
I hope your vegetable garden is doing well. Do you have a question about something you’re growing? You have two options. Put it in the video comments on my YouTube channel OR email me at Susan@SusansintheGarden.com. I’m here to help and I *will* respond! My next vegetable garden tour will take place around mid-July.
Would you believe I have shot nearly 400 videos about vegetable gardening? Here’s a direct link to my YouTube channel. Or you can go straight to my Vegetable Gardening playlist to pick and choose what you’d like to watch. As I always like to say, Happy Gardening!
