Video: My Snow Day

garden birds, snow bird tracks, snow day

We’ve been getting quite a bit of precipitation lately, mostly in the form of snow. Since I had a few outdoor chores to take care of, I thought I’d take you along with me so you could enjoy the peacefulness and beauty of our garden. So this week’s video is a little profile of my snow day!

On my list of things to do were a little bit of snow shoveling, bringing more firewood to the house so we could stay toasty-warm all week, cleaning the heated birdbath, putting out suet for the woodpeckers and other suet-loving birds, making sure there wasn’t too much snow on the roof of the hoop house, cutting down our small Christmas tree and decorating it for the holidays.

As I mentioned in the video, Bill and I have lived in Spokane, Washington for a little over 40 years — which I can scarcely believe! — and I still don’t get tired of the snow. Maybe it’s because I feel like it transforms the landscape into something wonderful that is so much fun to photograph? It also (usually) means I can hop onto my cross country skis and go for a fun outing around the neighborhood? Well, it means that and a whole lot more so I really don’t mind when it gets snowy… especially if I don’t have to drive anywhere! (I mean, let’s get real here, LOL)

So it’s a more laid-back video than usual and I truly hope you enjoy it. I have a pretty exciting video coming up for next week so stay tuned. But in the meantime, please come share my snow day with me! And I’d love to hear how you’re fairing with your wintry weather. I know many folks would much rather enjoy sunshine and warmth, and I get that. But I’ll take a distinct change of seasons, hands down.
