Christmas Video: Bird Feeders in the Snow

I wanted to have a special holiday greeting for you all and what’s better than a video of hungry birds visiting our bird feeders on a snowy day? Well, how about if the scene was accompanied by some beautiful harp music?

Yup, that sounded like the perfect combination for me to wish you “Happy Holidays!” I hope you will enjoy this.

I shot this video through our (open) kitchen window and that crackling sound you’re hearing in the background is the fire in our woodstove. That helped make up for the cold air I was letting into the house, LOL.

The birds you are seeing include goldfinches, house finches, pine siskens and juncoes. The 3-tube feeder holds Nyjer thistle seed and the Edwardian-style bird feeder is filled with black-oil sunflower seed. And yes, we do go through a LOT of bird seed around here! But in the long run, it’s cheap entertainment.
