May 11 column: organic gardening

organic gardening

Organic gardening: Adding organic amendments to your soil is a great way to grow beautiful, productive plants.

Here is a link to my column in today’s edition of The Spokesman-Review: When going organic, it helps to know your surroundings. This one is the first of two parts on organic gardening.

I’ve been gardening organically for several years now. It’s easier than you might think, and not more expensive either. In the first part, I discuss all of the really simple things you can do to keep your plants healthier and keep an eye out for problems that might arise.

Part two will run next Sunday and is about the different types of products I use to feed my plants, prevent insect problems and so on. I hope you’ll find both columns helpful.

As always, if you ever have any questions about this, just let me know. You can either comment on this post or drop me an email at Susan@susansinthegarden.com.
