Video: Butchart Gardens Virtual Tour

The Rose Garden within Butchart Gardens.

My husband Bill and I have just returned from a quick trip to Victoria, British Columbia. And anytime we go there, a visit to the renowned Butchart Gardens is a must.

You know what that means, right? I took a lot of photographs and have put together a video slideshow to share with you!

As I sorted through my photos, I realized a lot of them show appealing flower combinations. For example, orange and purple zinnias (yes, I must do that next year!). Pale yellow tuberous begonias with purple heliotrope. You get the idea: combinations that pop.

Some quick background on Butchart Gardens:

  • It’s located about 12 miles north of Victoria, B.C. There are all sorts of public buses that will take you there for just $3 each way.
  • The gardens encompass about 55 acres within an old limestone quarry.
  • They’re still owned and run by the family that created them.
  • And yes, they are absolutely gorgeous!
  • You’ll see the Rose Garden, Sunken Garden, Ross Fountain and Japanese Garden. Other areas include the Italian Garden, Star Pond, Bog Garden and even a Carousel for the kids.
  • All of the gardens are immaculate and well-tended.

I hope you’ll enjoy the slideshow. My 2026 flower choices will definitely be impacted by this visit!
