Aug. 1 column: Blue Chip Lofts
Here is a link to my column in today’s edition of The Spokesman-Review: Blue Chip Lofts truly for the birds.
During the summer months, I enjoy profiling local gardeners and their gardens since I think we can all learn from what other gardeners are growing. Today’s column is a profile of a courtyard garden in downtown Spokane at the Blue Chip Lofts condos. In addition to creating a unique enclosed garden, the residents have also established a backyard wildlife sanctuary.
I had the pleasure of visiting their garden on a recent summer evening and was very impressed with how tranquil it is. I hope you will enjoy reading about their courtyard garden and get inspired to landscape so you can attract birds and butterflies as well.
I took this photo of a sculpture in their garden that was made from recycled materials that came from the Steam Plant.
