Jul. 25 column: Water gardening
Here is a link to my column that ran in today’s edition of The Spokesman-Review, Aquatic features add sights, sounds to your garden. Today’s topic is water gardening, something that I’ve really been enjoying for several years now. We have two water gardens, a small 50-gallon preformed pond and a large pond that has a rubber liner.
Water features really add to a landscape and they can be any size or shape. I’d like to put a couple more in our garden (don’t tell my husband) one of these years. I particularly like those simple water features where you have a reservoir underground that contains a small submersible pump and a large ceramic pot above-ground that fills with water and gently splashes back down into the reservoir. They tend to look stunning in a landscape yet are very low maintenance.
